Statement of Faith:
Holy Bible
We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the divine and final authority for Christian faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
God
We believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 3:13-17; 28:19; John 1:1, 14; 10:30).
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on high, He presently ministers as our High Priest and Advocate (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-8; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 John 2:1-2).
Holy Spirit
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men of their sin, to convert and regenerate the believing sinner, and to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service (John 14:26; 16:8-15; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9).
Humanity
We believe that man was created by God in His image, but that man fell into sin and thereby incurred to himself and his posterity not only physical death, but also spiritual and eternal death. As a result, all human beings are born “dead in trespasses and sins,” with a sinful nature and under the just condemnation of God (Genesis 1:27; 2:17; Romans 5:12; 18-19; Ephesians 2:1-3).
Salvation
We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and that only such as trust Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God (John 1:12-13; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-26).
Church
We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons as have been regenerated and baptized by the Holy Spirit through saving faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to bring glory to God through worship and service, demonstrating Christ’s love through mutual care and support and proclaiming Christ to the world. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, His Body. This Church is manifested by local assemblies as defined in the New Testament Scriptures, and every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs (John 3:5; Acts 6:1-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 5:23; Titus 3:5).
Ordinances
We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church in this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means of salvation (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:42; 8:36-38; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
Lord’s Coming
We believe in the personal, bodily, visible, pre-millennial, and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this present hope is a source of encouragement and consolation, a motive for purification and holiness, and an inspiration for activity and service in the lives of all who by faith have entered a relationship with God through Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:30; Philippians 3:20; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 9:28; 2 Peter 3:10; 1 John 2:28; Revelation 22:12).
Last Things
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord in heaven and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting, conscious punishment in hell (Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2; John 5:29; 6:40; 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15:1ff; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18; Revelation 20:11-15).
